The high number of anxiety in maternity mothers who will undergo the labor process was generally in the form of negative reactions, such as refusal, fear, anger, and sadness. Any feelings of anxiety will result in impaired physical health and mental well-being. Non-pharmacologically handling maternal anxiety was hypnobirthing. This study aims to determine the effect of hypnobirthing on maternal anxiety levels. The research design uses a literature review. Data collection procedure using organisize, synthesize, identify, and formulate. The journals studied were 10 journals taken from the Garuda Portal, Google Scholar, Research Gate, and Pubmed using the keywords "hypnobirthing" and "anxiety" and "mothers in labor" for national journals and "hypnobirthing" and "anxiety" and "delivery" for international journals. The time span used was the journal published in 2017-2021. The results of the journal review showed that most of the anxiety levels before hypnobirthing were mild to severe, and after hypnobirthing the anxiety levels dropped to no anxiety to moderate anxiety. The conclusion that can be drawn was that there was an effect of hypnobirthing on maternal anxiety where there was a decrease in maternal anxiety after being given hypnobirthing. The hypnobirthing method brought the brain to work on alpha waves, namely waves that had a frequency of 14-30 HZ. In this condition the brain was in a relaxed state, relaxed, between conscious and unconscious and almost asleep, when the body began to secrete the hormone serotonin and endorphins so that anxiety decreased.
